Cavaliers Hand EOU Road Loss

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon University women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at No. 5 Concordia University Monday.

The Mountaineers (2-6, 0-3 Cascade Collegiate Conference) fell for the fourth straight game. EOU posted three shots in the game, putting two on goal. Eastern has recorded nine shots in the past three games, five on goal. Rachael Collins had two of the shots Monday, with Mauriana Gonzalez having the other.

Concordia (9-3-1, 4-0) recorded 23 shots in the victory, putting eight on goal. Alex Blalock scored the opening goal in the 43rd minute off of a Jasmine Ayala assist. Ayala played a ball up to the right side and Blalock put a shot to bottom left from 15 yards out.

Sydney Tucker got the first of two goals in the second half in the 58th minute. Tucker beat EOU's goalkeeper to a ball and found the back of the net from 10 yards out. Ten minutes later, Tucker found Hannah Scott on a ball passed from the right side of the field to the middle, and Scott placed a shot off of the Eastern goalkeeper from 10 yards out.

The Mountaineers' Chantal Schefers recorded five saves in 80 minutes. Tori Talbutt made a pair of saves for the Cavaliers, which won its sixth straight contest.
