Anji Weissenfluh enters her 24th year at the helm of the EOU women’s basketball team and tenth year as the Athletic Director for the Mountaineers in 2024-25. Weissenfluh was named head coach ahead of the 2000-01 season.
 
Weissenfluh is the all-time winningest coach in EOU history with an overall record of 548-185 for a winning percentage of .747.
 
During her time at EOU, Weissenfluh has posted 19 seasons of 20-plus wins. She has guided the Mountaineers to 14 appearances in the NAIA Women’s Basketball National Championships, including three quarterfinal appearances in 2012, 2013 and 2016. Her teams have shared or won outright 12 Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) regular season titles and won five conference tournament championships. She has posted a winning record in each of the last 23 seasons.

2023-24: The Mountaineers ended the 2023-24 with an overall record of 21-8 while going 17-7 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. Receiving an at-large bid, EOU advanced to the NAIA National Championships Opening Rounds before eventually falling to the No. 2 University of Providence. Among the talented roster, three different Mountaineers received All-Conference distinctions, with Brie Holecek named CCC Co-Defensive Player of the Year. 

2022-23: Eastern had a dominant year going 30-3 recording only one conference loss while winning a shared conference title. In the postseason the Mounties won the CCC Tournament and advanced to the national tournament where the Mounties won their first round matchup before dropping out in the second round. EOU finished the season ranked No. 12 in the nation. Weissenfluh hit a massive milestone in 2022-23 winning her 500th game as EOU's women's basketball coach against Willamette University on November 26.

2021-22: Eastern posted a 22-11 overall record and 18-4 in CCC play. The Mounties were 11-1 at home, 9-5 on the road and 2-5 in neutral games. EOU earned a birth to the CCC tournament as the third seed before losing in the semifinals. Eastern earned a bid to the National Tournament where they ultimately lost in the Opening Round. 

2020-21:  Weissenfluh guided the Mountaineers to a 16-4 overall record and a 8-2 mark in CCC spring season play. Her squad was undefeated at home that year with a perfect 8-0 record inside Quinn Coliseum. Four Mountaineers garnered All-CCC honors for the spring season in Beverly Slater, Sailor Liefke, Taylor Stricklin, and Jillian Albright. Along with that, Slater was named the CCC Player of the Year for the spring season. Stricklin was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team for her performance in the classroom.

2019-20: EOU post its 15th season of 20-plus wins as the Mountaineers went 22-10 overall and posted a 15-5 record in league play. EOU finished second in the CCC standings and clinched a berth to the conference tournament as the No. 2 seed. The Mounties made the tournament semifinals before bowing out. Two EOU players were named All-CCC in Jane Nelson as a First Team selection, while Rachel Fielder garnered Honorable Mention status. Nelson went on to be named an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American for her play.
 
2018-19: On Feb. 3, 2018, Weissenfluh won her 400th-career game as head coach as EOU rolled by Evergreen 96-58 for their 17th straight win that season. The Mounties continued the winning streak to 25 games that year before it was ended by No. 11 Northwestern in the second round of the NAIA National Championships.
 
2014-15: On February 25, 2014, Weissenfluh won her 300th-career game as a Mountaineer after defeating Northwest Christian, 80-70. After guiding the Mountaineers to a perfect conference season in 2012-13, the Mountaineers grew the winning streak to a CCC-best 29 games during the 2013-14 season.
 
2012-13: Weissenfluh led the Mountaineers to their best season in program history with a 33-3 overall record, including a perfect 18-0 record in conference play. The undefeated record in CCC play by Eastern was the first by any team in CCC history.
 
2009-10: Weissenfluh’s 200th-career victory came on February 26, 2010 when EOU defeated Corban, 80-71.
 
2007-08: Weissenfluh led the Mountaineers to their first NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball National Championship victory during the 2007-08 season with a 52-49 triumph over Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.).
 
2005-06: On January 20, 2006, Weissenfluh became the first head coach in EOU Women’s Basketball history to earn her 100th-career victory, as the Mountaineers took down Concordia (Ore.), 72-37.
 
In addition to Weissenfluh's individual success, there have also been great stories regarding student-athletes in the women's basketball program. Her teams have produced 11 NAIA All-Americans, two NAIA Honorable Mention All-American, five CCC Player of the Year honorees, and 30 All-Conference selections.
 
Weissenfluh and her teams have put a huge emphasis on a variety of community outreach projects. Some of those projects include the 12-Hour Drug Free Relay, the Fire and Safety Fair and Shelter from the Storm.
 
During her time as a student at EOU, Weissenfluh was a four-year starter for the Mountaineer women's basketball team and was an all-conference selection. Weissenfluh holds the school record for steals (227) after four seasons on the hardwood. Upon completion of her eligibility, she became the head softball coach at EOU.
 
As the school’s first softball coach, Weissenfluh led the Mountaineers to over 250 victories in 11 seasons. During that time frame, Weissenfluh was named Coach of the Year on five separate occasions. In 1999, her squad finished fourth in the nation followed by a fifth-place finish in 2000.
 
Before taking over as the EOU women's hoops coach, Weissenfluh spent three years as the head girl’s basketball coach at Union High School and two as an assistant at EOU.
 
Weissenfluh graduated from EOU in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Health.
