The Eastern Oregon University cross country program had two representatives on the 2009 All-American list.
Freshman standouts, Karlee Coffey and DJ Flores, were tabbed among the nation's elite runners after fantastic seasons. Both Coffey and Flores finished in the top 30 individually at the NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Wash., on Nov. 21.
Coffey finished 12th at the national championships. She became only the third women's runner at EOU to be named an All-American as a freshman. The freshman she crossed the line before any runner in the Cascade Conference.
Flores finished 16th at the national championships. He crossed the finish line with a time of 25:38, just under a minute off of the first place time, 24:23.
Coffey was one of four freshmen named to the women's 30-member All-American list. Flores was one of four on the men's 30-member list.
The Mountaineer men's team finished 12th overall at the national championship meet.
