Good Bye Sioux City...

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Today we will wrap up our final day here in Sioux City as we head back to Omaha for the night as we fly out early tomorrow morning.

This morning the girls will have a chance to clean up there rooms, and then study table at 11. After I am really unsure, maybe to the gym for one last game, lunch, I don't know! But what I do know is that we will head to Omaha at about three and once we arrive there we will get a chance to head to the mall. Something many of them have been looking forward too! As for myself I will have to limit my shopping since our bags have a weight limit to meet and I was pushing it on the way here.

As we warp up our week here in Sioux City, I owe the team a big thank you for putting up with me! I am so lucky I got to spend the week with them and have had a great time here getting to know them a little better as well as watch some great basketball.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – What a great day, sorry I wasn't in touch sooner but I took the morning to sleep in a get a few things done before we headed out for the day.

Today the team got a chance to attend on of the local schools here in Sioux City, Leeds Elementary School. The team introduced themselves and gave a little talk about how important it is to not only be active and involved in sports but in academics as well, and then they taught them an EOU cheer. After the large introduction the girls were spilt up into individual classrooms so the kids could ask a few questions about the player getting to know them a little better. They were given a basket full of goodies, asked to sign autographs, and received many pictures. Thank you Leeds Elementary students and staff you were awesome, it was truly a great experience and the team loved it!

Next the ice cream capital of the world! Only 20 miles from Sioux City it was only a small drive coming from a place like La Grande and we were able to learn many new and interesting facts about the history of ice cream and of course eat some ice cream.

Now one thing I haven't mentioned in these blogs is the interesting conversations that can be had, and I mean interesting. Five or six girls in a van, you never know what you might talk/hear about! For instance on the way back we discussed why Carl's Jr. to us is Hardees here… is it Carl's last name? For anyone that reads this and knows, feel free to let us know as we are still wondering!

We also watched the men again today as they played hard, but were unable to come out with the win. Although it is never the way we want to end our season, EOU men you had a great year and I have enjoyed watching you play and look forward to next year.

Congratulations to both the men's and women's teams on a great year!

A quick dinner of pizza and then more basketball.

After making it back to the hotel we had a small gathering in the pool as team had cupcakes and ice cream to celebrate Salena's birthday, although most agreed they were still full and had no room for cupcakes they decided to save them and eat them for breakfast! Again it was another fun day, only two days left before we make our way back to Oregon.
