Nielsen Named CCC Representative for National Award
Mountaineer junior will be the conference's representative for award

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Eastern Oregon University women's basketball player, Shaylee Nielsen, has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference representative for the Emil S. Liston Award.
The national award is presented annually to a junior women’s basketball player who has shown athletic and scholastic achievement with an overall GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale.
Student-athletes from Concordia University, Eastern Oregon University, Corban College and College of Idaho are Cascade Collegiate Conference nominees for annual NAIA awards based on character, leadership, academics and athletics. The NAIA will announce winners later this spring.
Nielsen, a Physical Education and Health major, averaged 6.41 points per game this season for Eastern Oregon. The junior helped EOU qualify for the National Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa. She shot 42 percent from the field, and added 3.28 rebounds and 1.22 assists per game.
