Joseph Joins Eastern Softball

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon University softball team announced the signing of Rebecca Joseph for the 2011 season.

Joseph will be graduating from Baker High School in Baker City, Ore., knows the area well after playing in the Greater Oregon League against La Grande High School for four years. She played volleyball and softball for the Bulldogs for four years and basketball for three years.

“Eastern is close to home and it offers every aspect in what I want to do with my life later on in the future,” Joseph said.

The incoming freshman will be a Biology major and would like to be a Wildlife Biologist in the future. Joseph was first team Greater Oregon League for Volleyball after lettering on varsity two years. She also received most defensive player and most improved player of the year while at BHS. Joseph was second team GOL for softball and lettered on varsity three years. She was named the top defensive player of the year in basketball.

The Baker City native recalls being part of the fourth place team at the ASA Triple Crown World Series as her greatest sports moment to date. The daughter of Brent and Milli Joseph has had three relatives attend EOU, Katie Raffety, Debbie Darrow, and Amy Huff.
