LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon University men’s basketball program completed their annual summer camp Wednesday in Quinn Coliseum.
“We had another great turnout this year,” EOU head coach Isaac Williams said. “I thought the kids did a great job this week and took a lot away from the camp. I only hope they had as much fun as the counselors and I had.”
It was the largest attendance in the Isaac Williams-era at Eastern after doubling last year’s attendance with over 70 children this year.
“I had a great time at this camp,” camper Luke Hawkins of Albany, Ore. said. “All of the different stations were cool, but playing the games was the probably the best. Having pizza everyday for lunch was pretty nice too.”
Campers learned skill development, motivation, team concept and attitude. The coaching staff and current Mountaineer players put an emphasis on shooting, ball handling, post moves, and rebounding. Each day the campers ended the day with games against other teams in their age group.
