PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team won its tenth game of the season in dramatic fashion on New Years Eve, 54-52.
Eastern Oregon's Kyle Miller rebounded a Samantha Flett missed basket and put it back in as time expired at Warner Pacific. WPC held a small lead over the Mountaineers for much of the evening, leading by as many as seven twice, but could not put EOU away.
Miller led Eastern with 10 points, and was the only Mountaineer in double figures. EOU has now won four consecutive games and sits tied atop the conference standings.
Marissa Towry and Cameryn Calhoun each scored 12 points to lead WPC. Kristina Schumacher added 10 points for the Knights.
The lead changed three times over the final three minutes, Maya Gross gave the Knights a 52-50 lead with 42 seconds remaining, but EOU's Ashlee Michelson tied the game moments later.
