EOU Soccer Ties With OIT

La Grande, Ore. – Eastern Oregon women's soccer team tied Oregon Tech Friday afternoon, 1-1.
 
Claire Posadas was the lone Mountaineer to score. Posadas, took four shots, with two of those being on target and one beating OIT (6-5-2)  goalkeeper Alyssa Ray.  Mauriana Gonzalez for EOU took eight shots and had three on target but couldn't beat goalkeeper Alyssa Ray.
 
The first 45:00 of play was fairly even as each team controlled the ball in their own half of mid-field well. EOU (1-13-1) looked to have several opportunities to score but couldn't capitalize and would go into half tied, 0-0. 
 
In the second half Posadas brought some much needed offense for the Mountaineers. With 51:11 on the clock Posadas took a corner kick and received help from Mother Nature. The wind carried the ball pass all of OIT defenders and goalie, into the back of the net.   
 
Oregon Tech would strike back twenty minutes later. In the 72nd minute OIT Jacque Woods took a shot that hit the crossbar and landed at the feet of A.J Castle. Castle, one timed it pass goalkeeper Kailey Moss to tie the game, 1-1.
 
After 90:00 minutes of play the match was still tied and would go into overtime.  Neither team would score in either 10:00 overtime period. The match ended in a 1-1 tie.
 
EOU attempted a total of 25 shots on the day, with seven being on target. Goalkeeper Moss recorded 7 saves.
 
EOU will host Southern Oregon on Sunday October 28th for their last home game of the season. Kick off is schedule for 1 p.m. Live stats will be available on eousports.com
