EOU Downs Walsh, 1-0

NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Eastern Oregon Women's Soccer team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 1-0 overtime victory over NCAA Division II Walsh (Ohio) on Saturday afternoon.

"I couldn't be more proud of the 98 minutes team effort we put into this game to come out with a win," said head coach Jennifer Simonetti. "We worked hard, played our game, and stayed patient until we put it away."

Eastern Oregon outshot the Cavaliers in the first half, 5-0. However, Eastern Oregon could not get one of those shots into the back of the net and we went scoreless into halftime.

Second half Walsh got its offense going as they registered seven shots in the period. Kailey Moss up for the challenge and stopped all three shots that were on goal to keep Walsh off the scoreboard. EOU mustered three shots in the period but Eastern Oregon did not get one into the back of the net and the game went scoreless into overtime.

Eastern Oregon ended the game seven minutes and 11 seconds into overtime with Tori Fedora took a shot from the left corner and beat Dani Shambaugh to give the Mountaineers the win.

With the win EOU improves to 4-0 on the season and continues the schools best start in the history of the program.

Eastern Oregon returns to the pitch on Monday when they face its second NCAA Division II opponent in Malone (Ohio). Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. PT.
